Q: Hi Ramona. Do you have a back-up plan for keyless entry failure? Recently, my guest could not get in to my Airbnb because the batteries had gone bad in the keyless entry.
A: It has happened to me too! Make sure your keyless entry system has a key option to open the door. Attach a key holder combo lock safe (similar to those that real estate agents use for showing listed properties) near the entry and put a hard copy of the key in the safe. If the keyless entry fails, you can give your guest the location and combination for the key safe. They can then open the door with the key! Brand I recommend - try this link for Master Lock and this link for Kwikset - not the least or most expensive both are high quality, long lasting and get the job done!
Q: I love the RTH App, thank you Ramona! Do you have a recommendation for a natural cleaner that replaces bleach? I just have not been able to find anything that works.
A: I am so glad to hear that you love RTH. Thank you! As for a bleach alternative, I use OxiClean Laundry Stain Remover in the spray bottle (see link below) and I am very pleased with it's effectiveness. It evens removes mildew and dark mold stains in the shower (it may need to sit a bit longer than bleach on mold).
Q: Ramona, I am wondering if you have discovered any way of reducing the costs associated with buying supplies for rentals?
A: I am so glad you asked this question. My store of choice is Bed, Bath & Beyond. I collect the coupons they regularly mail out - did you know that even though the coupons have an expiration date, the stores continue to honor them (in store only). I have saved thousands of dollars using BBB 20% off 1 item, $5 off of $15, and $10 off of $30. You can combine the coupons and there is no limit on how many you can use, so the sky is the limit!
